Phaetus Dragonfly Hotend BMO — All-Metal, Copper-Alloy Core V6 nozzles
The Phaetus Dragonfly BMO is an all-metal hotend built around copper-alloy core parts for rapid heat transfer and stable temperature control. Its signature conical heatbreak-to-heatsink interface increases contact area for improved heat dissipation and reduced heat-creep, supporting cleaner extrusion across a wide range of materials—including higher-temperature and abrasive filaments when paired with suitable nozzles. Rated up to 500 °C (limited by your heater and sensor), BMO drops into V6/groove-mount toolheads used on many popular printers and extruders.
Key features
-
All-metal path with copper-alloy core for fast heating and stable temps.
-
Conical heatbreak/heatsink fit improves dissipation and mitigates jams.
-
High-temperature capable: up to 500 °C with appropriate heater/thermistor.
-
Smooth filament path: low-roughness heatbreak spec often cited for reliable feeding.
-
V6/groove-mount compatibility for broad ecosystem support.
Compatibility notes
-
BMO vs BMS: Functionally similar; BMO uses V6/groove-mount, while BMS targets Creality-style bolt-mount extruders/heatsinks. Choose based on your mount style.
-
Verify heater/thermistor type, mount clearances, and nozzle thread/seat against your specific toolhead before install.
Setup tips
-
After install, PID tune and re-dial retraction/pressure advance.
-
For abrasive filaments, use a hardened or coated nozzle and maintain a clean filament path.
-
Heat-tighten the nozzle per manufacturer torque guidance and confirm temperature sensor settings in firmware.
